Thanks to his charity activities he gained the nick name Saint Bob. A musician, actor and political activist Bob Geldof was born in 1951 in Dublin, Ireland. He was the first rocker to meet the highest state representatives and make them listen to him. He won recognition as a person that can motivate people, as a tireless hard worker and ardent participant in discussions. In 1982, he played the main character in the famous “Pink Floyd” movie The Wall. In 1985, he organized the biggest and most famous charity concert in the history of popular music, Live Aid. In stadiums in London and Philadelphia, the biggest music stars sang on a single day for help to Africa. In 1986 he was, as the first rock singer, dubbed knight by the Queen of the United Kingdom.
