Billionaire and philanthropist. He is the chairman of Eczacibasi Holding, a prominent Turkish company with investments in the pharmacy industry and other fields of business. Apart from many other offices, he is the chairman of the supervisory board of the Foundation for Modern Arts in Istanbul and a member of the council at Harvard Kennedy School. He is a founder and patron of the Museum of Modern Art in Istanbul (Istanbul Modern).
