Norodom Sihamoni was born in 1953 in Phnompenh. He is the only monarch in the world that is fluent in Czech. In 1962, his father, King Sihanuk, sent him to study in Prague. He attended an Elementary school on Ostrovní Street, followed by ballet at the Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts. He performed in the National Theatre and the TV Opera Brundibár. He sees Prague as his second home. In 1981, he founded a Dancing school in Paris and was a ballet teacher. Since 1993, he has worked as an Ambassador of Cambodia at UNESCO. In 1994, he was given the title Grand Prince by his father and 10 years later, he was crowned King of Cambodia.
