Lifetime achievements
Leading Slovak piano virtuoso and teacher. He studied piano at the Conservatory in Bratislava and at the Academy of the Performing Arts in Prague. He deepened his art interpretation during postgraduate studies at the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Besides performing on important world concert podiums, he is the founder of several festivals and music competitions, also making him a powerful organizing force of the Slovak musical life. He has long been general director of the Slovak Philharmonic. He is also a professor at academies in Prague, Bratislava and Banská Bystrica. He has led master classes in Tokyo, Budapest and Semmering. His CD recordings have won a series of awards.
