The soul of Colours of Ostrava music festival, Zlata Holušová, was born in 1958. She graduated at the Faculty of Arts of the university in Brno. She has been organizing multicultural and charity projects that transcend national borders for almost two decades. Towards the end of the previous century, she established a small multi-genre festival in the village Dolní Lhota near Ostrava. After its ten successful years, the festival became one of the biggest and best-known international music festivals in Europe, and is attended by hundreds of musicians from the whole world every year. “Ostrava is not black any more, but full of colours”, says the founder of the nowadays widely known festival celebrating music from all over the world.
